Treatment Areas

Most areas of the body can be treated using Forever Clear BBL™ as it is a fast and safe treatment method. However, the most common treatment areas are generally where acne is typically found. This includes the face, back, and neck.

How to Prepare

In order to prepare for your Forever Clear BBL™, you should avoid extensive exposure to the sun for at least a month prior to acne treatment. Sunburned or tanned skin runs a higher risk of potential side effects such as permanent skin discolouration or severe blistering.

Additionally, you should stop any of the following for at least a week before and after your procedure in order to reduce the risk of new breakouts, bruising or trauma:

• Medications that contain aspirin or anti-inflammatories
• Strenuous exercise and contact sports
• Alcohol intake should be limited

How It Works

Forever Clear BBL™ is non-invasive, gentle, and safe. After a thin layer of gel is applied to your treatment area, the BBL™ treatment will begin. Your skin will feel warm throughout the duration of the procedure, however, it is not uncomfortable for many patients. A singular session may take 15-30 minutes depending on the treated area and the severity of the condition.

Forever Clear BBL™ uses a unique three-step process, not available with other IPL technologies. The steps are as follows:

Step One

The first step involved your skin being treated with blue BBL™ light to eliminate acne-causing bacteria in the pores.

Step Two

Next, your skin is treated with yellow BBL™ light in order to reduce the inflammation and redness associated with acne. This will restore healthy luminous skin.

Step Three

Finally, for added benefit, your skin is then treated with SkinTyte II™ using infrared light to initiate the body’s natural healing process.

Results You Can Expect

You can expect to see clearer skin, and your pores will be less noticeable. Acne marks will fade and your skin will be more even-toned. You may begin to see improvement after your first treatment, however, maximum results will occur when you follow the forever clear BBL treatments protocol and use the recommended home care products.

We typically recommend a series of ten treatments spaced one week apart. At APT Medical Aesthetics, we have a treatment package available for your convenience. After completing your package, most patients will require periodic touch-ups that will vary between every month to every 6 months depending on the individual patient.

Every patient is different and so is their acne. How you will respond to the Forever Clear BBL™ treatment will depend on the severity and type of your acne. Aftercare and Recovery

There is typically no downtime after Forever Clear BBL™. Your skin may be slightly red after the treatment, and this typically resolves within a few hours. You will be able to apply makeup and resume normal activities immediately following the procedure.

You may experience some slight redness and minimal swelling of the acne and the surrounding skin for a couple of days after your treatment. However, this is fairly common and you can expect the symptoms to fade on their own.

Potential Complications

While seriously adverse reactions to the Forever Clear BBL™ procedure is fairly rare, there are some side effects that you should be aware of. Side effects that you may experience includes:

• Hyperpigmentation
• Hypopigmentation
• Swelling
• Bruising
• Blistering
• Scabbing
• Scarring
