Canfield VISIA complexion analysis will take several in-depth photos to assess the following areas of your skin:

How to Prepare

Since this is a non-invasive procedure, there is no preparation needed on your end. All you need to do is book your free appointment with APT Medical Aesthetics! While you may come with a list of concerns you’d like to address, the findings from your complexion analysis may have you reconsider.

You’re welcome to have your photos taken bare-faced, or with makeup, depending on your preference. However, a note will be made in your file so that for any future scans, the same conditions can be applied for accurate results tracking. This will ensure that we have the most complete picture of your skin’s health, without being skewed by the addition or removal of makeup or other products.

How It Works

The process of complexion analysis with Canfield VISIA is quite simple. You will place your head in a small scanner with a chin and forehead rest (similar to a dental scanner), that will rotate around your head to obtain images from all angles. To gain a complete understanding of your skin, the Canfield VISIA system will take UV photographs. Be sure to close your eyes during the process to protect them from UV flashes!

The analysis with Canfield VISIA typically takes 15-20 minutes in order to be completely thorough and gain an accurate picture of your skin. From there, we will need additional time to discuss your results, or have them emailed to you.

It’s a good idea to repeat your analysis every year to see how your skin has improved or changed over time. During treatments at APT Medical Aesthetics, a follow-up analysis is typical to measure the effectiveness of treatments.

Results You Can Expect

Unlike other procedures at APT Medical Aesthetics, the Canfield VISIA analysis won’t provide any immediate improvement to your skin. Your results will be completely unique to you and dependent on your skin’s health!

Once the scan is complete, you will meet with a consultant to discuss the results and determine the main areas of concern, which can then be mapped onto your own goals. From there, you will develop a personalized treatment plan to address these. Your progress will be monitored with follow-up complexion analyses to measure the effectiveness of your treatment plan and see if any new issues arise.

Potential Complications

Since VISIA is a complexion analysis tool, you won’t need to worry about any complications or side effects from the procedure, unlike possible future treatments. If your eyes are not kept closed during the photo-taking, you may notice some temporary vision distortion from the UV flashes, but there are no major concerns or complications for the VISIA analysis.
