Frequently Asked Questions
I have oily skin. Can I use EltaMD sunscreen?
Yes, there are several varieties of EltaMD sunscreen available – each one indicated for a specific skin type such as oily, dry, sensitive, or acne-prone.
Does the EltaMD line have any chemical-free sunscreens?
Yes. You might be interested in trying EltaMD UV Physical, which is a lightly tinted sunscreen with SPF 41. It contains 9% transparent zinc oxide and 7% titanium dioxide, and is water-resistant for 40 minutes.
What does SPF mean?
SPF, or sunburn protection factor, indicates the level of sunburn protection provided by the sunscreen product. Higher SPF values provide greater sunburn protection if the product is used as directed. It should be noted that SPF only indicates a sunscreen’s UVB protection. It does not indicate if the product protects against UVA, which is responsible for skin aging. For UVB and UVA protection, make sure that your sunscreen is labelled “broad spectrum.”
